Fintech innovation, crypto identity, and Web3 projects by Pedro Gomes

Pedro Gomes is founder of WalletConnect, a peer-to-peer protocol enabling secure communication between decentralized applications and crypto wallets. Since 2018, WalletConnect has facilitated more than 9.2 billion session connections across 450+ dApps and 200+ wallet providers. The protocol supports multi-chain environments and is integrated into leading platforms including MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, and Rainbow. Gomes led the v2 launch in 2024, which introduced persistent sessions, multi-chain support, and improved encryption standards.

With a background in interface design and encrypted protocols, Gomes has shaped key standards for decentralized identity and onboarding. He is a contributor to the Sign-In with Ethereum (SIWE) specification and participates in W3C credentials forums. WalletConnect tooling, including SDKs and CLI tools, has been downloaded over 2 million times by developers and remains a foundational infrastructure component for Web3 UX. Gomes frequently presents at ETHGlobal, Graph Day, and DevConnect, where he speaks on session interoperability, mobile-native key management, and privacy-preserving connectivity. WalletConnect underpins dApp workflows with a combined ecosystem TVL surpassing USD 60 billion.
