Politics, Policies, and Public Statements by Anna Paulina Luna
Anna Paulina Luna is the U.S. Representative for Florida’s 13th Congressional District, serving since January 2023. Luna made history as the first Mexican-American woman to represent Florida in Congress, bringing a blend of military service, Hispanic advocacy, and conservative principles to Capitol Hill. A staunch proponent of border security, veterans’ rights, and government accountability, Luna has quickly become a visible figure in Republican leadership.
Born in 1989 in Santa Ana, California, Luna grew up in a low-income, single-parent household, experiencing firsthand the challenges of instability and limited resources. She enlisted in the U.S. Air Force at age 19, serving as an airfield management specialist and earning the Air Force Achievement Medal. After her military service, Luna earned a biology degree from the University of West Florida and worked in nonprofit advocacy for veterans. Before entering politics, she became Director of Hispanic Engagement at Turning Point USA, focusing on outreach to Latino communities. Her background in both service and activism has shaped her legislative priorities and made her a rising figure in national conservative politics.
