Emin Gün Sirer is a Turkish-American computer scientist, entrepreneur, and academic best known for his work in distributed systems and blockchain technology. Born in Turkey in the early 1970s, Sirer moved to the United States for higher education. He studied computer science at Princeton University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree, and later completed a Ph.D. in computer science at the University of Washington in the early 2000s, focusing on distributed computing and networked systems.
