Bitfinex announces customizable peer-to-peer Margin Funding for verified users
Bitfinex highlighted its peer-to-peer margin lending feature, which allows verified users to set their own interest rates and loan terms when providing funds directly to margin traders via an order book system.

Bitfinex has detailed the functioning of its peer-to-peer Margin Funding platform, which enables verified users to lend funds directly to margin traders by setting their own interest rate, loan duration, and amount. Funding offers are matched through an order book, and users must hold at least an Intermediate verification level to participate; Basic Plus accounts created prior to March 1, 2022, may also have access.
The service stipulates a minimum loan amount of USD $150 (or equivalent), with loan periods ranging from 2 to 120 days. Interest is calculated based on the amount, rate, loan duration, and applicable fees, with earnings credited daily. Bitfinex becomes the lender of last resort when available peer funding is exhausted, and optional rate-setting features are available through the Flash Return Rate (FRR) system.
Bitfinex is a cryptocurrency exchange that enables trading of a variety of digital assets, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, multiple crypto pairs, and fiat currency pairs such as USD, EUR, GBP, and JPY. The platform offers a proprietary trading terminal, a mobile app for margin trading with leverage up to 1:10 (or up to 1:100 for derivatives), customizable and scalable orders, as well as a demo account for strategy testing.
