Highlights

  • XAG/USD remains below key moving averages across timeframes, confirming sustained bearish pressure.
  • A 5.09% decline brought XAG/USD to $56.25 with price near the session low and volatility high.
  • All momentum and trend indicators are negative or oversold, with a likely range of $55.59 to $57.15 for the next 2 to 3 days.

Bearish momentum intensifies as multiple indicators hit oversold

On the hourly chart, XAG/USD trades below its MA-20 at $58.78 and MA-50 at $59.62, while on the daily timeframe, the price remains well beneath its MA-200 at $69.02. The Ichimoku Kijun stands at $58.52 and serves as nearby resistance. Momentum signals are negative, with both MACD and ADX indicating bearish intraday sentiment. The RSI is deeply oversold at 17.54, and both Stochastic RSI and CCI confirm oversold conditions. Bull/Bear Power points to continued seller control, and the Awesome Oscillator is aligned with the ongoing downward momentum.

Further downside risk rises as consolidation zone narrows

Over the next 2–3 trading days, XAG/USD is forecast to consolidate within the $55.59–$57.15 volatility band relative to current levels. The probability of an upside reversal is considered very low, while further downside remains highly likely. A short-term bullish scenario would require a break above $58.52 (the Ichimoku Kijun), which could prompt a limited recovery. Conversely, a move below $55.59 would open the door to additional declines and intensify bearish momentum.

Viktoras Karapetjanc, analyst at Traders Union, notes that silver remains technically weak after a sharp 5.09% drop and sits well below all major moving averages. He believes bearish sentiment is dominant, with momentum and oversold signals pointing to the possibility of further downside. Consolidation between $55.59 and $57.15 is likely in the near term, barring a break above the Ichimoku Kijun at $58.52. Karapetjanc sees little reason for optimism until clear structural improvement emerges. "Momentum is against silver for now, and the path of least resistance continues to be lower unless key resistance levels are reclaimed."

Earlier, analysts noted that silver remained under sustained downside pressure, with technical indicators favoring bearish momentum. The current breakdown below prior support reinforces this negative bias, making moves below $55.59 the key risk to monitor in the near term.
