Highlights

  • KC/USX trades below short- and medium-term moving averages but holds above long-term support, showing seller pressure with structural support intact.
  • Momentum indicators are neutral to oversold, with intraday price down 3.68% to 304.53 and high volatility present.
  • Price may consolidate in a 300.25 to 309.54 range over 2 to 3 days, with a 55% probability of an upward move.

Mixed technical momentum as sellers exhaust near key support

On the h1 chart, KC/USX trades below its MA-20 at USX313.2 and MA-50 at USX311.42, while holding above the long-term MA-200 at USX300.21. The Ichimoku Kijun, currently at USX313.33, serves as immediate resistance. Momentum indicators are mixed: MACD and ADX both remain neutral. RSI is at 44.84, signaling a sell bias. Stoch RSI, CCI, and Bull/Bear Power are deep in oversold territory, pointing to short-term exhaustion for sellers, and Bull/Bear Power confirms continued intraday selling dominance. Persistent negative intraday momentum contrasts with oversold oscillator readings.

Sideways outlook expected as volatility defines near-term range

Over the next two to three trading days, KC/USX is expected to remain within the USX300.25 to USX309.54 range, reflecting typical volatility for the current market environment. The most probable scenario is sideways price action around these levels. There is a 55% probability of a move toward the upper end of the band, with a 45% chance of further declines. A break above USX313.33 would mark a bullish scenario, while a sustained drop below USX300.25 could trigger another leg lower.

Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, notes that coffee futures are under pressure but holding above a critical long-term support. He sees the current oscillators as signaling possible exhaustion among sellers, with near-term direction likely to remain contained within the established range. The analyst maintains a constructive view, expecting range-bound trading before a decisive move. Karapetjanc states: "If KC can hold above USX300.25, I expect buyers will step in to test the upper end of the band near USX309.54 in the coming sessions."

Previously it was reported that coffee futures exhibited a broadly bullish bias while consolidating above key technical support levels. The current price action now introduces a shift toward short-term weakness, making the USX313.33 resistance a critical level for any attempted rebound in the coming sessions.
