Price revision and effective date

The new rates take effect on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026.After the revision, petrol is priced at Rs377.91 per litre, compared with Rs376.06 previously. Global oil trends drive domestic adjustment
OGRA says the increase is driven by global developments, including changes in Platts rates, premiums and incidentals. The adjustment reflects continuing volatility in international oil markets.Global crude prices are rising amid supply disruptions and geopolitical tensions, particularly in the Middle East. Those pressures are feeding into Pakistan’s domestic fuel pricing and increasing costs for transport and other diesel-dependent sectors.
Our earlier article on the conflict-driven surge in oil shipping costs explained how rising tanker and insurance rates have become a major component of crude pricing. We noted that disruptions around key routes such as the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea were pushing up freight bills, with knock-on effects that can filter through to pump prices and broader consumer costs.
