Highlights

  • ZS/USX trades below key short- and medium-term moving averages, indicating sustained selling pressure in the near term.
  • Oscillators and trend indicators are divergent, with weak directional conviction and persistent overbought conditions limiting rebound potential.
  • Expected trading range for the next 2 to 3 sessions is USX1,219 to USX1,234, with a high probability of further downside.

Mixed momentum signals as support holds above long-term average

On the H1 timeframe, ZS/USX is positioned below both the MA-20 at USX1,234 and the MA-50 at USX1,233, while maintaining support above the MA-200 at USX1,211 on the daily chart. Immediate resistance is marked by the Ichimoku Kijun at USX1,236. MACD maintains a sell bias, and ADX remains neutral, indicating the absence of strong directional momentum. Oscillator readings are divergent: RSI is at 48.81 (Sell), Stoch RSI signals a strong buy, and CCI is neutral; Bull/Bear Power stands as overbought, suggesting lingering buyer strength amid subdued price action and low volatility.

Downside risk rises as price consolidates within narrow range

In the short term, ZS is expected to consolidate in the USX1,219–USX1,234 range over the next 2–3 sessions. The probability of an upward breakout is very low, while the likelihood of a downward move is much higher. Should price breach resistance at USX1,236, a bullish scenario could develop, but a move below support at USX1,219 may prompt further declines. Until either boundary is challenged, range-bound trading is the most probable scenario.

Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, sees soybeans trading in a tight range with no significant news catalyst. He believes the market lacks strong momentum and macro triggers for now. Oscillator divergence and low volatility point to a consolidative phase. The analyst maintains a constructive outlook as long as longer-term supports hold. "If ZS stays above USX1,219 and breaks through USX1,236, I expect bullish activity to resume in the coming weeks."

Earlier, analysts noted that a sharp drop in the Brazilian real following the presidential election increased the competitiveness of Brazilian soybean exports, putting downward pressure on global prices. With Soybean Futures now consolidating below key moving averages and indicators signaling weak momentum, traders should monitor for a potential move below USX1,219 support, which could signal the next leg lower amid ongoing export-driven pressure.
