Atossa Therapeutics has put forward new research that broadens the scientific understanding of Duchenne muscular dystrophy by identifying failures in multiple biological systems, surpassing the commonly cited issue of structural protein loss.

A newly accepted manuscript by the company in the journal Degenerative Neurological and Neuromuscular Disease synthesizes transcriptomic and mechanistic data, offering a more holistic view of the disease’s pathophysiology and signaling the potential for more comprehensive therapeutic approaches.

Atossa Therapeutics has previously focused on Z-endoxifen as an endocrine therapy for breast cancer, planning a virtual KOL event on the topic in May last year. The company also hosted an expert-led virtual session on the development of (Z)-endoxifen for ER positive breast cancer patients in a separate initiative. These programs demonstrate Atossa’s continued engagement in advancing research across multiple therapeutic areas.
