Logility Supply Chain Solutions, Inc contends that current artificial intelligence implementations in supply chain operations are overly focused on accelerating existing processes rather than addressing more fundamental structural constraints.
Company President Allan Dow argues that the limitation is not simply about speed but lies within the processes themselves, suggesting that transformative gains require a rethinking of supply chain workflows, rather than just making current methods faster. The perspective calls for industry leaders to shift their attention from incremental efficiency improvements to reexamining core supply chain design.
Earlier this year, Logility released Orchestration Center, a tool designed to accelerate supply chain actions and reduce process delays, according to the company’s announcement here. A separate report from Logility found that 83 percent of supply chain firms use AI in legacy processes, while only 17 percent pursue fundamental model changes here. Both findings suggest a focus on incremental improvements within the sector.
