EIX is trading well above its SMA-20 ($72.08), SMA-50 ($70.73), and SMA-200 ($64.44), confirming bullish momentum in the short, medium, and long term. The Ichimoku Kijun on D1 is at $72.27, which acts as immediate support below the current price of $75.67. Near-term support is seen at the SMA-20 ($72.08), with key support at the SMA-50 ($70.73). Immediate resistance is limited, but the previous week's high ($75.68) and the 52-week high ($76.22) serve as key resistance levels.
MACD on D1 signals continued bullish momentum, while D1 ADX is neutral at low levels, pointing to a trend lacking strong conviction. RSI on D1 stands at 66.9 in bullish territory but short of classic overbought, whereas Stoch RSI and CCI on D1 both flag clear overbought conditions. BBP on D1 indicates strong buyer dominance. The Awesome Oscillator also supports the bullish trend. EIX has risen $3.78 (5.26%) over the past week, currently sitting at the very top of its weekly range, with weekly volatility standing at 5.67%. The tone for the week is strong upward momentum approaching resistance. In today's session, the price is up 1.23%, marking a robust intraday gain.
Looking ahead, the expected range for the coming week is $74.70–$77.80, capturing a realistic move within roughly ±3% of the current price and staying anchored near the previous weekly highs. This sits near the upper end of the 52-week band ($49.14–$76.22). The probability of a price increase is very high (more than 80%) with a much lower chance of a decline, as RSI-W1, MACD-W1, MA-50-W1 all point to buy signals, and only ADX-W1 remains neutral. The baseline scenario sees EIX consolidating near current levels between key support ($72.08–$70.73) and resistance ($75.68–$76.22). In a bullish breakout, the price could challenge or surpass the 52-week high. Conversely, a bearish reversal would only be likely if the price falls below the SMA-20, targeting support near $72.
In a recent review, analysts highlighted Edison International's sustained bullish momentum, underpinned by strong technical trends and consolidation near highs. Building on that assessment, current developments suggest investors should closely monitor for any shifts in momentum, with particular attention to potential breakout or reversal signals in the near term.
