Ouster launches Rev8 OSDome sensor

Ouster has introduced the Rev8 OSDome sensor, designed to eliminate blind spots directly above and below traditional sensors.

With its 180 degree hemispherical field of view, the Rev8 OSDome can capture everything in front of the dome from floor to ceiling, providing enhanced coverage for applications such as wall, ceiling, or vehicle-mounted sensors. The innovation targets sectors where maximizing sensor visibility and minimizing blind zones are critical for operational efficiency and safety.

The company recently added 3D mapping to its product suite through Ouster Studio, allowing instant map generation from lidar files. Earlier, Ouster expanded its BlueCity lidar technology in Utah, increasing coverage to nearly 300 intersections as shares slid 2.9% to $42.13. The latest product launch comes as Ouster continues to develop sensor solutions for multiple sectors.
