Estee Lauder raises annual forecasts on holiday-season skincare, fragrance demand
Estee Lauder lifts forecast

Ahead of the holiday shopping season, Estee Lauder is lifting its annual sales and profit outlook as demand for premium skincare and fragrance products remains resilient. The revised guidance also signals momentum from the company’s turnaround plan under CEO Stephane de La Faverie, which has focused on innovation, channel expansion and cost cuts.

Highlights

  • Estee Lauder raises fiscal 2027 organic sales growth forecast to 4%-5.5% and annual adjusted profit outlook to $3.20–$3.45 per share.
  • Continued strong demand for skincare and fragrances, especially among affluent and younger consumers, supports Estee Lauder's improved guidance and high-end portfolio.
  • Estee Lauder's 'Beauty Reimagined' strategy emphasizes faster innovation, channel expansion, AI-driven marketing, increased investment, and cost cutting via job reductions.

Updated guidance and growth strategy

As reported by Reuters, Estee Lauder says it now expects fiscal 2027 organic sales growth of 4% to 5.5%, up from its previous forecast for a 3% to 5% increase. The company also raises its annual adjusted profit outlook to $3.20 to $3.45 per share, compared with its earlier guidance of $3.10 to $3.35.

The Clinique and Tom Ford owner is benefiting from continued spending on skincare and fragrance, particularly among affluent and younger consumers despite economic uncertainty. That demand is supporting its higher-end beauty portfolio as the company heads into a key seasonal sales period.

Under its "Beauty Reimagined" strategy, Estee Lauder is focusing on faster innovation, expansion into new channels and markets, and the use of AI for consumer insights and marketing. It is also increasing consumer-facing investment while streamlining operations and cutting costs through job reductions.

Luxury beauty demand supports outlook

Resilient demand in premium beauty categories strengthens Estee Lauder’s position as it works through a year-long turnaround effort. The improved forecast suggests management sees stable appetite for prestige skincare and fragrances even as broader economic conditions remain uncertain.

For the beauty sector, the update points to continued strength in higher-income and younger customer segments, two groups that remain important for category growth. It also indicates that brand investment, product innovation and tighter cost control are helping large cosmetics groups protect margins while pursuing sales growth.

In our earlier article on Ralph Lauren tying executive payouts to AI metrics, we described how the company updated its fiscal 2026 incentive plan to focus on leaders’ AI literacy and enablement, replacing prior sustainability targets. We also noted this as part of a broader retail shift toward holding senior management accountable for AI adoption as the technology spreads across pricing, inventory and customer-facing tools.
