Energy Vault has announced that its Japanese subsidiary, Energy Vault Japan, has entered into a strategic partnership agreement with PowerX, a Japanese manufacturer of grid-scale battery energy storage systems.

Under this agreement, the two companies will explore the supply of up to 1.5 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of PowerX’s Mega Power series battery storage for Energy Vault projects. The partnership is aimed at strengthening Energy Vault's energy storage capabilities for upcoming projects in Japan.

Energy Vault previously revealed a unified power system that integrates storage, generation, and software for large-scale AI campuses, according to a recent announcement. The company has also launched Energy Storage as a Service to address power constraints facing new U.S. data centers using utility-scale batteries, as reported earlier this year. These initiatives highlight the company's ongoing focus on advanced energy solutions for key markets.
