Aave price prediction: Will continued volatility push AAVE lower after Family wallet shutdown?
Aave slides 7.60% to $116.90 today
Aave (AAVE) is trading at $116.90, which is sharply below the MA-20 at $150.15, MA-50 at $158.10, and MA-200 at $230.11, signaling strong downward pressure across short-, medium-, and long-term trends. Aave Labs is consolidating under the Aave name, discontinuing the standalone Family iOS wallet and focusing on its core DeFi lending business after governance disputes.
GHO, Aave's native stablecoin, has surpassed $500 million in market capitalization, underscoring increased adoption and platform growth.
AAVE trades at $116.90, sharply below key moving averages, with strong bearish momentum and a projected five-day range of $111–$123 amid oversold conditions.
Governance disputes drive restructuring amid focus on lending core
Aave Labs has announced a major restructuring, retiring the Avara brand and discontinuing the standalone Family iOS wallet as part of a consolidation under the Aave Labs name. The core technology from Family, including Family Accounts, will remain integrated into Aave's product suite for authentication and wallet features, while the standalone wallet will cease onboarding new users from April 1 and will be fully shut down by April 2027. This strategic move follows recent governance disputes and signals the company's renewed focus on its main DeFi lending business. Additionally, Aave's native stablecoin GHO has surpassed $500 million in market capitalization.

Bearish momentum accelerates as oversold signals and volatility align
Momentum indicators reinforce a bearish picture as both the MACD and ADX point to continued selling pressure and trend strength. RSI, Commodity Channel Index, and Stochastic RSI all identify oversold conditions, suggesting the market is significantly stretched to the downside, while Bull/Bear Power confirms seller dominance. The Awesome Oscillator likewise continues to support the prevailing downtrend. The price fell $9.62 or 7.60% with no opening gap, now near today's session low of $116.91 — this shows high intraday volatility and intense pressure after the open. Intraday performance and momentum confirm each other, providing a unified bearish outlook for now.
Extended downside favored as volatility bands tighten on weak rebound odds
Over the next five trading days, a typical volatility band relative to current levels is expected between $111 and $123. There is a very high probability (over 80%) of a further decline, making any rebound much less likely in the short term. The primary scenario is for consolidation in the $111 to $123 corridor, with a bearish case if support at $111 fails. If price unexpectedly moves above $123, AAVE could attempt a recovery toward $128, but momentum and trend indicators strongly favor continued weakness.
Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, sees Aave trading in a firmly bearish technical structure, with all major moving averages and momentum indicators pointing lower. He notes that the restructuring at Aave Labs and the shutdown of the Family wallet show a drive for focus but do not help sentiment in the short term. The analyst remains cautious, highlighting that the key support at $111 is at risk and any upside is limited unless price clears $123. "Base case is continued consolidation or further downside — I stay defensive here until $123 is reclaimed with strength."
Previously it was reported that Aave Labs is streamlining operations by discontinuing its Family iOS wallet and retiring the Avara brand, focusing instead on a consolidated suite of DeFi products under the Aave name. At the time of reporting, AAVE traded slightly lower, with technical indicators showing moderate pressure amid ongoing brand integration, while key support levels remain around the current trading range.
