Kaspa price prediction for 2030: Can emission cliff push KAS to $0.5?

Kaspa price prediction for 2030: Can emission cliff push KAS to $0.5?
Kaspa price chart shows consolidation near $0.032 below all EMAs ahead of the July emission cliff in 2026

By July 10, 2026, approximately 95% of KAS's total 28.7 billion supply will have been mined, an emission cliff slashing daily new issuance by over 90%. On January 26, Igra Network, an EVM-compatible Layer 2, launched its “Galleon phase” mainnet on Kaspa using miners as decentralized sequencers, enabling full Solidity compatibility with permissionless launch planned for March 2026.

Highlights

  • Kaspa currently trades near $0.032, consolidating below all major EMAs with RSI at 44.11, indicating neutral bearish momentum.
  • Long-term forecasts for 2030 range from $0.3 to $0.6 if the emission cliff creates scarcity and smart contract adoption scales.
  • KAS benefits from the July emission cliff, Igra Network smart contracts, MARA Holdings mining operations, and Zodia Custody institutional support.

The emission cliff will fundamentally restructure supply dynamics that have defined this proof-of-work network since its fair launch in November 2021. Igra directly addresses Kaspa's longest-standing weakness: the absence of smart contract functionality. If Igra achieves developer adoption, it opens DeFi protocols and programmable assets on a PoW base layer. The Kaspa Industrial Initiative published its EigenFlow market-making framework for BlockDAG architectures, while the first-ever Kaspathon hackathon ran January through February 2026.

Technical structure shows consolidation below resistance

The 4-hour chart reveals KAS consolidating below all major EMAs between $0.032 and $0.036, with the price stuck in a tight range near $0.032. RSI at 44.11 indicates neutral to bearish momentum without oversold conditions.

Price action has formed sideways consolidation since early February, with the $0.033 zone acting as immediate resistance. A breakout above $0.036 would open a path toward $0.04-$0.045, while failure to hold $0.03 support risks retesting the $0.026 low.

Kaspa's 2030 outlook depends on execution

Looking ahead to 2030, Kaspa's case hinges on whether proof-of-work infrastructure enhanced with smart contracts and adaptive consensus still has structural relevance. If DAGKnight ships, Igra achieves traction, and the emission cliff creates scarcity dynamics, KAS could realistically trade between $0.3 and $0.6 by 2030. Zodia Custody provides secure cold storage with compliance frameworks. A Valour exchange-traded product listed on regulated European stock markets offers physically-backed KAS exposure. MARA Holdings disclosed KAS mining operations through industrial facilities in Texas.

Lead developer Michael Sutton outlined a bundled hard fork combining DAGKnight consensus with a ZK Layer 1-to-Layer 2 bridge. DAGKnight replaces GHOSTDAG's fixed latency with an adaptive model measuring real network conditions, targeting sub-second finality and 50% Byzantine fault tolerance. K-Social decentralized messaging peaked at 1.9 million daily transactions in September 2025. However, Kaspa operates without a formal foundation, relying on a lean community structure. The kas.fyi block explorer nearly shut down in late 2025 due to developer financial constraints.

What investors should monitor

The July 10 emission cliff is the critical structural catalyst. Igra Network's permissionless launch in March and developer adoption metrics are relevant for smart contract validation. Investors should track the DAGKnight bundled hard fork timeline and ZK bridge deployment. MARA Holdings hash rate contribution and mining profitability at post-cliff issuance levels signal network security sustainability.

Analyst Anton Kharitonov stated:

“Kaspa's emission cliff will slash daily issuance by over 90%, while Igra brings smart contracts. If execution delivers, it could emerge as the fastest settlement layer in the PoW category.”

By 2030, KAS's valuation will reflect whether proof-of-work infrastructure proved relevant in a proof-of-stake-dominated market or execution continued to lag roadmap ambitions.Recently we discussed that Igra Network launched EVM-compatible Layer 2 on Kaspa using miners as decentralized sequencers, enabling Solidity compatibility with permissionless launch planned for March 2026.
