Largest crypto conference TOKEN2049 postponed to 2027 amid Middle East war
Organizers of one of the world’s largest crypto conferences, TOKEN2049, announced that the Dubai edition of the event has been postponed until 2027 due to instability in the region affecting international travel and large-scale events. The conference, originally scheduled for April 29–30, 2026, will now take place on April 21–22, 2027 in Dubai.
Organizers said preparations for the event had been progressing normally, but the decision was made to postpone the conference to maintain the scale and safety of the gathering and ensure full participation from the global crypto community.
All previously purchased tickets will remain valid for the new dates. Attendees will also be able to transfer their tickets to the TOKEN2049 Singapore conference if they prefer not to wait until 2027.
Regional tensions disrupt international travel
The postponement comes amid geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, which have disrupted air travel and international transportation. Following the escalation of the conflict involving the U.S., Israel and Iran at the end of February, restrictions were introduced on the use of regional airspace.According to Gulf News, airlines including Emirates, Etihad, flydubai and Air Arabia have been operating adjusted or limited schedules, while passengers are advised to travel only with confirmed bookings.
