Nikita Bier, Head of Product at X, has sparked speculation that the platform may be preparing a new cryptocurrency-related initiative. In a post on Tuesday, Bier suggested that after a difficult year for the crypto industry, X might step in with a solution.
In a post that quickly gained over 1.5 million views within hours, Bier wrote: “The crypto market has had a rough year. Maybe we should launch something to fix it.”
Bier’s post triggered active discussion in the crypto community. Many interpreted it as a signal that X, under Elon Musk’s leadership, could play a more active role in reviving interest in cryptocurrencies after a challenging period.
The comment came as X prepares to launch its X Money service in April. The service is expected to include peer-to-peer transfers, bank deposits, a debit card, and cashback. So far, X Money has been publicly described as a fiat-only product with no confirmed cryptocurrency features.
Former X CEO Linda Yaccarino previously stated that the company plans to introduce investment and trading functions as part of its vision to become an all-in-one financial and social ecosystem.
Additionally, X has recently intensified hiring of specialists with cryptocurrency experience.
Although there is no direct confirmation of cryptocurrency integration into X Money, Bier’s comment and the company’s hiring activity have fueled speculation that X may either directly add crypto features or quietly integrate blockchain technology behind the scenes.
If X decides to integrate cryptocurrency features, it could become one of the most significant developments for the industry in 2026.
With over 600 million users, the platform has the potential to dramatically increase cryptocurrency accessibility for mainstream audiences and set new standards for everyday digital asset usage.
Earlier, we reported that X clarifies off-platform crypto trading model.
