Ondo Finance eyes big deal

Consolidation across crypto infrastructure is keeping acquisition activity active as digital-asset firms seek new licenses, technology and distribution. In that environment, Ondo Finance is evaluating a potential deal valued at between $250 million and $500 million, focused in part on wealthtech targets.

Highlights

  • Ondo Finance is evaluating a potential acquisition valued between $250 million and $500 million, focusing on wealthtech and other subsectors.
  • Ondo, which manages over $2.5 billion in tokenized Treasuries and stocks, has not yet appointed advisers nor started formal deal talks.
  • Crypto M&A activity in 2026 remains strong as financial firms pursue acquisitions for regulated access, technological infrastructure, and wider distribution.

Potential deal scope and company position

As first reported by CoinDesk, the New York-based tokenized-assets firm is assessing a possible acquisition in the $250 million to $500 million range, according to a person with knowledge of the matter. The person says Ondo is looking at wealthtech targets among other subsectors and has not yet appointed formal advisers because the matter remains private.

Ondo says it is not currently in conversations with any party. In emailed comments to CoinDesk, a company representative says the firm regularly evaluates the market as part of normal business operations.

Crypto M&A momentum in 2026

Founded in 2021 by former Goldman Sachs executives, Ondo operates a tokenization platform that brings traditional financial assets onchain. The company issues tokenized U.S. Treasuries and stocks, and has grown into one of the larger providers of tokenized real-world assets with more than $2.5 billion across its products.

Dealmaking across crypto remains strong in 2026 as traditional financial companies and larger digital-asset groups use acquisitions to expand capabilities. The trend is supporting interest in targets that can add regulated access, technology infrastructure and broader distribution.

Our earlier coverage of Wall Street’s tokenization push looked at DTCC’s initiative with major financial firms to demonstrate how tokenized securities can work inside existing trading, ownership and settlement systems. We also noted how Ondo Finance has been positioning itself as a bridge between traditional finance and blockchain, including expanding tokenized real-world assets through a partnership with Japan’s SBI Holdings and exploring stablecoin-based settlement and collateral use.
