AVAX faces volatile week as CLARITY Act vote and Helicon upgrade approach
Avalanche remains under pressure alongside the broader risk-asset market. At the same time, the approaching network upgrade provides an important internal catalyst that could soon shift the balance.
The activity on Avalanche continues to remain moderate. According to DefiLlama data, the TVL remained at $472 million, the market capitalization of stablecoin at $1.35 billion and the active RWA value at about $901 million. The weekly DEX volume was $755 million, recording 12.4% increase in the last seven days.
The main Avalanche-specific catalyst is Helicon, which is scheduled for mainnet activation on September 22. The upgrade includes six key ACPs, introducing Continuous Execution for the C-Chain, auto-renewed staking, a dynamic minimum gas price, a reduction in the minimum staking period to 48 hours, and an increase in validator uptime requirements from 80% to 90%.

AVAX needs $7.60 to reverse the bearish setup
AVAX played out the previously outlined scenario, reaching the $7.60 target and moving closer to the next downside area around $7.20–7.00.
With geopolitical and macroeconomic conditions deteriorating, the risk of further weakness remains elevated.
The key support now sits at $7.10. A sustained move below this level would increase the probability of a decline toward the 50-day SMA near $6.99, while stronger selling pressure could open the way toward $6.85.
The bearish setup would lose relevance if AVAX reclaims $7.60 and manages to hold above it for at least two trading sessions.
CLARITY and Fed decisions create a volatile setup for AVAX
The main short-term risk for AVAX currently lies outside the Avalanche ecosystem itself. Brent has climbed above $108 amid the continuing U.S.-Iran conflict and disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz. Higher oil prices are adding to inflation pressure and complicating the Fed’s September 16 rate decision.
Another source of volatility will be the critical CLARITY Act vote on September 15. AVAX is therefore entering several event-heavy sessions in a row, during which crypto market moves may be driven more by macroeconomics and politics than by Avalanche’s own fundamental catalysts.
