Can Avalanche keep climbing after a 62% rally as Helicon upgrade approaches?
After a powerful run, attention around Avalanche is starting to shift from one catalyst to the next. The question now is whether fresh fundamentals can keep momentum alive after such a rapid advance.
Following reports that the NYSE had spent roughly a year testing Avalanche technology and exploring a possible integration, market focus is gradually moving toward Helicon. Ava Labs President Charlie Cooper previously confirmed close work with the NYSE, while stressing that Avalanche has not yet been formally selected for the exchange’s future tokenized-asset platform.
The next immediate catalyst is Helicon’s mainnet activation on September 22. The upgrade includes six Avalanche Community Proposals and introduces changes across both the C-Chain and P-Chain.
Among the most important updates are Continuous Execution, automatic staking renewal, a shorter minimum staking period of 48 hours, an increase in validator uptime requirements from 80% to 90%, and a dynamic minimum gas price.

AVAX shows signs of overheating after the 62% rally
The bullish setup from the previous analysis played out in full. AVAX reclaimed its 200-day SMA, cleared the $9.71 target and then accelerated toward $11.79.
After gaining more than 62% since September 16, however, the token is beginning to look overheated in the short term. The RSI (14) has moved into extremely overbought territory, which could temporarily cap further upside.
That increases the risk of a pullback toward the $10.50–9.75 support zone. This remains the base-case scenario for now.
Sentiment around Avalanche is still strong, though, so even one or two weaker sessions may not be enough to end the broader move. Buyers could quickly return if the pullback remains controlled.
Network upgrade could extend the AVAX narrative beyond NYSE
AVAX now has an unusual sequence of major catalysts. The NYSE story first pushed institutional interest sharply higher, and Helicon follows almost immediately with a substantial network upgrade on September 22.
That could keep Avalanche in focus even if some short-term profit-taking emerges. Still, after a rally of more than 60%, technical overheating is becoming harder to ignore. A strong fundamental backdrop can support the broader trend without preventing a temporary reset before the next attempt higher.
