But we saved everything 🙂.
Bitcoin inflows from miners to Binance surged to 19,866 BTC on September 21, the highest level approaching the 20,000 BTC mark since late August. However, CryptoQuant analysts note that similar spikes since 2024 have generally not been followed by an immediate sharp decline in the price of the leading cryptocurrency.
The previous larger spike occurred on August 25, when miners transferred more than 25,000 BTC to Binance. According to the chart, Bitcoin continued trading at around $85,400 despite the latest inflow.

Transferring coins to an exchange does not necessarily mean they will be sold immediately, but rising flows can indicate an increase in potential supply. Miner-to-exchange BTC flows are therefore monitored as an indicator of possible selling pressure on the market.
Mining companies regularly sell part of the Bitcoin they produce to cover operating and capital expenses. These include electricity, cooling, equipment maintenance, salaries, hosting, taxes, debt obligations and mining pool fees.
Higher Bitcoin prices can provide miners with more favorable conditions for taking some profits. Companies can use the proceeds to replenish reserves, repay debt, and purchase or upgrade ASIC equipment.
The model is similar to the behavior of gold producers, which sell part of their output when market conditions are favorable. The proceeds allow them to finance ongoing operations and invest in expanding production.
CryptoQuant data also show significant differences between exchanges. Most of the latest spike was concentrated on Binance, while miner flows to Coinbase, OKX, Kraken and several other platforms remained substantially lower.
CryptoQuant notes that since 2024, most instances when miner transfers to exchanges approached or exceeded 20,000 BTC were not followed by an immediate sharp correction in Bitcoin. The latest spike may therefore be more useful as a gauge of demand resilience than as a clear bearish signal on its own.
The latest data so far suggest that the market has been able to absorb the additional potential supply, with Bitcoin holding around $85,400 after the 19,866 BTC inflow. Further price action will depend in part on how much of the Bitcoin transferred by miners is actually sold.
Meanwhile, mining company Hut 8 won an auction for two data centers owned by bankrupt Poolin in Texas with a $140 million bid. The assets are the Pyote and Tarbush sites, with the winning bid nearly three times the combined value of the initial offers.
The deal still requires approval from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey. If completed, the acquisition will give Hut 8 additional infrastructure capacity amid ongoing consolidation in the U.S. Bitcoin mining industry.
Earlier, we reported that FutureBit tested Bitcoin mining using a digital model of a fruit fly brain. The HashFly experiment uses simulated neural connections to perform simplified SHA-256 computations.
