Cactus Custody expands crypto custody operations with Swiss service
Cactus Custody launches Swiss arm

Institutional demand for jurisdiction-specific digital asset safekeeping is driving custody providers to add new regulated bases. Cactus Custody is launching a Swiss service that keeps private keys and client data in Switzerland, while placing client assets under Swiss legal segregation rules.

Highlights

  • Cactus Custody launched a Swiss crypto custody service via ChainTech AG, extending its operations beyond Hong Kong and Bhutan.
  • At launch, the Swiss service supports 132 assets across 18 networks with client assets legally segregated under Swiss law.
  • The expansion targets institutional demand for secure custody backed by Switzerland's data protection, regulatory clarity, and strict asset segregation provisions.

Swiss setup adds protected custody capacity

The Block reports that Cactus Custody has launched a Swiss custody service operated by ChainTech AG, adding a new base to its existing operations in Hong Kong and Bhutan. At launch, the service supports 132 assets across 18 networks and is structured so that client assets are segregated under Swiss law.

The company says the Swiss framework offers strong data protection and bankruptcy segregation provisions. Private keys for client assets are generated and held within Swiss data center infrastructure, keeping sensitive client data inside the country.

Institutional demand shapes expansion strategy

The new offering is aimed at institutions seeking more secure custody arrangements and greater clarity over the jurisdiction governing their assets. That focus reflects broader demand in the crypto sector for custody models that combine operational security with clearly defined legal and regulatory standards.

By adding Switzerland to its network, Cactus Custody is broadening its geographic coverage in a market where location, data handling and asset segregation are becoming more important factors for professional investors.
