Central token role drives surging market flows after World rebrand

The World Network recently rebranded its parent initiative to 'World', with Worldcoin remaining as the platform's incentive token. On June 4, 2024, a partnership between World Network and Okta was announced, focusing on improving identity, accountability, and trust for decentralized AI applications. WLD has seen active trading activity as the token continues to play a central role in developing World’s global privacy-preserving identity ecosystem. Market capitalization figures have recently positioned WLD between the 51st and 54th largest cryptocurrencies.

Anton Kharitonov, expert at Traders Union, notes that WLD's surge is buoyed by bullish technicals and recent high-profile news. He points out that trading above all major moving averages is a positive sign, but says the divergence among technical indicators raises caution. Kharitonov sees the oscillators as mixed, with sellers showing some short-term strength despite a generally positive trend. He believes the Okta partnership brings attention, but warns that fundamentals remain fragile and volatility is high. "Sentiment may have turned too optimistic, and traders should watch for false breakouts with stops in place," Kharitonov cautions.
Viktoras Karapetjanc, expert at Traders Union, sees strong upside following World Network's strategic partnership with Okta. He believes institutional collaboration signals broader adoption opportunities and supports the token’s long-term story. Karapetjanc highlights that the bullish structure remains intact with WLD trading well above key averages. He expects further growth as new identity solutions drive demand. "The combination of technical and fundamental momentum suggests a continuation higher, and I view the market backdrop as favorable for additional gains," Karapetjanc says.
Sholanke Dele, market strategist, is skeptical about the sustainability of the recent rally. He notes that mixed momentum indicators and high intraday volatility point to an unstable trend. Dele believes traders should be wary of the 59% upside probability given lingering risks. "Current moves appear driven more by hype than conviction, so I would tread cautiously until fundamentals catch up," he says.

Ceiling tests emerge as bullish price defies mixed momentum signals

WLD/USD is trading above the 20-day ($0.5292), 50-day ($0.456), and 200-day ($0.3807) moving averages, confirming established bullish momentum across short, medium, and long-term timeframes. The near-term ceiling sits at $0.5862, with the 20-day moving average at $0.5292 providing immediate support. Confirmation from the bullish alignment of the 50-day versus 200-day averages reinforces the prevailing positive structure. Momentum signals present a mixed outlook: the MACD is in strong buy territory, but the ADX indicates waning trend strength. The RSI has entered the neutral zone and forecasts a buy, whereas the Stochastic RSI reads oversold near 10. The CCI and BBP both show sellers have an intraday advantage and issue sell signals. The Awesome Oscillator is neutral, neither reinforcing nor contradicting the prevailing trend. On the session, price action is near the day’s highs with intraday volatility at 3.81%. The tone is strong toward the top end of the current range, though momentum signals are not uniformly aligned, highlighting a divergence between strong price action and weaker oscillator readings.

Earlier, analysts noted that Worldcoin was showing emerging bullish momentum and a potential shift away from recent downside risks. The latest developments—particularly the Okta partnership and continued alignment above key moving averages—underscore a strengthened bullish structure, making the near-term ceiling at $0.5862 a critical level for traders to watch for breakout confirmation.
