Bybit WSOT 2025 wins Guinness World Record for participation
Bybit, the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has reached a new milestone in digital asset trading by earning a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for “Most Participants in an Online Trading Competition within 24 Hours.” The recognition came as part of the platform’s flagship event — the World Series of Trading (WSOT) 2025, underscoring Bybit’s ambition to reshape the competitive crypto trading format.
Record-breaking moment
On August 27, 2025, starting at 12:00 UTC, WSOT gathered 71,765 unique participants in just one day. The record was verified by independent company Hacken and officially certified by Guinness World Records representatives. The achievement made Bybit the first and only crypto exchange to receive such recognition, showcasing the unprecedented scale and inclusivity of WSOT 2025.
Claudia Wang, Head of Marketing at Bybit, noted that this success was made possible thanks to the exchange’s global community:
“Nothing demonstrates team spirit like a world record achieved by the WSOT collective. We thank every trader, learner, livestream viewer, and participant who helped create this record-breaking event — the largest, most inclusive, and first-of-its-kind trading competition certified by Guinness World Records.”
Competition highlights
As of September 8, one week before the conclusion of the WSOT 2025 Main Competition, record-breaking results had already been recorded:
• $172.8 billion in total trading volume — the highest in WSOT history.
• 1,474 squads in the Main Competition (+288% year-on-year).
• More than 6.14 million USDT in the prize pool heading into the final week.
• The debut of WSOT Onchain Wave (since August 18), generating $68 million in trading volume.
• Over 236,209 registrations and 43,505 active participants.
To celebrate the record, Bybit announced that the first 30,000 traders who contributed to the achievement would share an additional bonus pool on top of the main $10 million WSOT prize fund. On September 8, the exchange also held a special livestream, distributing 50,000 MNT tokens to participants and 1,000 USDT to viewers.
A new standard for the industry
Earning a Guinness World Records title not only reflects Bybit’s rapid growth but also reaffirms the theme of WSOT 2025 — “Rewrite and Reshape.” By collaborating with more than 30 universities and 30 ecosystem partners, Bybit has turned WSOT into a global phenomenon, blending education, innovation, and trading.
