Binance and Franklin Templeton unite to launch tokenized securities
Franklin Templeton teams up with Binance

Binance, the world’s largest crypto exchange by daily trading volume, has announced a strategic partnership with U.S.-based investment giant Franklin Templeton to accelerate the tokenization of securities.

The collaboration, unveiled Wednesday, aims to merge Franklin Templeton’s expertise in compliant security tokenization with Binance’s global trading infrastructure, reports Cointelegraph.

According to Roger Bayston, head of digital assets at Franklin Templeton, the goal is to move tokenization “from concept to practice” by delivering efficiencies in settlement, collateral management, and portfolio construction at scale.

Tokenization moves into financial mainstream

The partnership will initially focus on unveiling tokenized security products later in 2025, according to Binance. Franklin Templeton executives emphasized that blockchain should not be seen as a threat to traditional finance, but rather as an opportunity to reimagine it. Sandy Kaul, the firm’s head of innovation, noted that tokenization has evolved “from fringes to the financial mainstream,” pointing to Franklin Templeton’s Benji Technology Platform as a model for bringing institutional-grade blockchain solutions to wider audiences. By combining forces, the firms expect to create “portfolios of the future” that bridge traditional markets with decentralized finance.

Institutional adoption gathers pace

Binance currently processes about $22 billion in daily trading volume, far outpacing rivals such as CoinW and MEXC. Franklin Templeton, managing $1.64 trillion in assets as of August 2025, was among the first issuers of a U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF, debuting the Franklin Bitcoin ETF (EZBC) in January 2024 alongside BlackRock and Grayscale.

The collaboration reflects a broader institutional embrace of tokenization: earlier this week, Nasdaq invested $50 million in Gemini and filed to list tokenized stocks directly on its platform. With Binance providing reach and liquidity, and Franklin Templeton delivering compliance and financial expertise, the partnership signals a deepening convergence between traditional finance and digital asset markets.
