Worldcoin halts decline as NVIDIA invests $100 billion in OpenAI AI projects
The announcement of a partnership between OpenAI and NVIDIA halted the decline of Worldcoin, pushing its price from $1.30 to $1.36.
OpenAI and NVIDIA revealed a major collaboration, with the global chipmaker committing to invest up to $100 billion in the artificial intelligence company.
In its September 22 statement, OpenAI, led by Sam Altman, named NVIDIA as its priority computing partner, aiming to leverage the collaboration to bring new AI products to market. The ChatGPT creator sees this partnership as an additional advantage for businesses and communities.
“Computational infrastructure will be the foundation of the future economy, and we will use what we are building with NVIDIA both to create new AI breakthroughs and to scale access to these capabilities for people and companies,” said OpenAI co-founder and CEO Sam Altman.
New OpenAI Projects for AI Training
The strategic partnership will allow OpenAI to build and deploy 10-gigawatt AI data centers based on NVIDIA systems. NVIDIA will invest $100 billion gradually into each gigawatt-level project, with the first expected in the second half of 2026.
“NVIDIA and OpenAI have pushed each other for a decade, from the first DGX supercomputer to the ChatGPT breakthrough. This investment and infrastructure partnership marks the next step—deploying 10 gigawatts to power the next era of intelligence,” said NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang.
Thanks to numerous integrations, with NVIDIA as the key partner, OpenAI’s AI infrastructure already supports more than 700 million weekly active users. The company aims to expand this reach even further.
Meanwhile, the announcement of the NVIDIA–OpenAI partnership also boosted the crypto project Worldcoin, co-founded by Sam Altman. Worldcoin’s price jumped sharply from $1.30 to $1.38, before correcting to $1.36 at the time of writing.
