Regulatory transparency steadies euro trade as ECB maintains its mandate

The European Central Bank (ECB) continues to uphold its mandate of maintaining euro price stability and regularly publishes official exchange rates between the euro and the Turkish lira. This consistent approach contributes to regulatory transparency and ensures reliable access to pricing information for market participants. While the ECB’s actions promote stable market mechanics, they do not point to any singular event impacting the current session.

Intraday selling persists as oversold signals hint at potential reversal

On the technical front, EUR/TRY remains below its MA-20 and MA-50 on the hourly chart, indicating short- and medium-term resistance, while staying above the daily MA-200, which provides longer-term support. Immediate resistance is set at the Ichimoku Kijun level of ₺56.153. MACD shows a sell bias and Bull/Bear Power remains negative, reflecting continued intraday seller dominance. The ADX and Awesome Oscillator are both neutral, with RSI sitting in the neutral zone. However, both the Stochastic RSI and Commodity Channel Index are in their oversold ranges, signifying some selling exhaustion and the potential for a reversal if momentum shifts.

Consolidation likely as downside risks persist within narrow band

Looking ahead, the expected trading range for EUR/TRY is ₺55.5725 to ₺56.1311 over the next few sessions, based on typical volatility. The probability of an upside move is currently very low, while the likelihood of further downside remains high. The baseline scenario forecasts price consolidation within this band, though a breakout above the immediate resistance at the Kijun level could trigger gains, whereas a sustained drop below support would put further pressure on the pair.

Anton Kharitonov, Analyst at Traders Union, notes that EUR/TRY is under near-term pressure, with prices unable to break above short- and medium-term moving averages. He observes that the ECB’s transparency ensures steady access to market data, but sees no direct catalyst from the regulatory side today. Technically, the pair faces resistance at ₺56.153, while oversold oscillators hint at possible stabilization. "Base case remains for further consolidation unless EUR/TRY convincingly reclaims the Kijun level," he says.

Earlier, analysts noted that EUR/TRY exhibited a strong bullish technical structure underpinned by continued upward momentum. The current analysis signals a shift toward downside risk, with attention now focused on whether EUR/TRY can hold above its longer-term support and avoid a deeper decline below the projected trading range.
