But we saved everything 🙂.
Chainlink has spent years building some of the infrastructure that keeps crypto running. Now, as traditional finance moves more assets onto blockchains, its technology could become much more valuable. Could that growth really be enough to push LINK to $200?
Standard Chartered has initiated coverage of Chainlink with a $200 price target for LINK by the end of 2030. With LINK trading at around $8 when the price prediction was published, that would mean an increase of roughly 25 times.

The bank's thesis rests heavily on tokenization. It expects the value of tokenized real-world assets on blockchains to reach $4 trillion by the end of 2028, while assets active in decentralized finance (DeFi) could reach $2.7 trillion by 2030.
Chainlink could be one of the biggest beneficiaries because tokenized assets need more than a blockchain to function. They require external data, connections between different networks and tools for compliance and privacy. “It is the only end-to-end platform capable of supporting the full lifecycle of tokenized assets across both DeFi and TradFi,” Standard Chartered’s Geoff Kendrick wrote.
The bank expects Chainlink's fees to increase roughly 25-fold by 2030 and LINK's price to broadly follow that growth.
Chainlink is best known as an oracle network, essentially a bridge between blockchains and information that exists outside them. A decentralized lending platform, for example, needs reliable asset prices before it can determine how much someone can borrow or when a position should be liquidated.
The project has expanded beyond price feeds. Its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) allows assets and information to move between different blockchains, while other Chainlink products provide financial data, compliance and privacy tools.
These services are particularly useful for tokenization. Putting a bond, fund or stock on a blockchain is only one part of the job. The asset still needs accurate data and ways to interact with other blockchains and the traditional financial system.
Standard Chartered estimates that Chainlink currently secures around 70% of oracle-dependent DeFi value globally. It has also enabled more than $32 trillion in transaction value over its history.
Recent numbers suggest institutional use is growing. Quarterly volume through Chainlink's CCIP reached $4.9 billion in the second quarter, up 353% from a year earlier.
Chainlink has also been working on infrastructure for tokenized assets and financial-market settlement. The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), for example, is integrating Chainlink technology into a system designed to enable round-the-clock collateral workflows. Other projects are exploring how the technology could speed up settlement in foreign-exchange markets.
LINK itself has become easier for conventional investors to buy. Grayscale's Chainlink Trust ETF (GLNK) trades on NYSE Arca, while Bitwise launched its Chainlink ETF (CLNK) in January, giving investors exposure to LINK through ordinary brokerage accounts.
A successful network does not automatically produce a successful token. Chainlink is trying to strengthen that connection through the Chainlink Reserve, which uses revenue from enterprise customers and on-chain services to accumulate LINK. The reserve held about 4.5 million LINK by the end of the second quarter.
As more institutions and crypto applications use Chainlink, some of the resulting revenue can therefore create demand for LINK. Standard Chartered estimates that roughly two-thirds of fees have flowed into the reserve since it launched, although greater network usage does not guarantee LINK's price will rise at the same rate.
What could stop LINK from reaching $200?
Standard Chartered's forecast depends on several large assumptions happening at once. Tokenization needs to grow into a multitrillion-dollar market, Chainlink must retain its position as that market expands, and increasing usage must translate into substantially higher fees and demand for LINK.
Competition could intensify, while institutional projects that look promising today may take years to become meaningful commercial businesses. Tokenization has been discussed as the future of finance for years, but moving from successful pilots to trillions of dollars in routinely traded assets is a much bigger step.
Reaching $200 would require LINK to rise roughly 25-fold from the level where Standard Chartered made its forecast. Chainlink already has something many crypto projects spend years trying to prove: real technology being tested and used by major financial institutions. The much harder question is whether Wall Street adopting Chainlink can ultimately make LINK worth 25 times more.
