Apple remains under pressure ahead of WWDC 2026

Apple is heading into WWDC 2026 as a company from which the market expects not just software updates, but a convincing answer to the question of competitiveness in artificial intelligence. Investors are tying the future performance of the stock to the launch of an updated Siri and the development of the Apple Intelligence platform.

At the same time, a number of analysts warn that high expectations are already partly priced in, and any signs of delays or underwhelming announcements could increase pressure on the shares.

AI case remains the key re-rating factor

According to industry sources, Apple is preparing to emphasize on-device AI processing, positioning this approach as a more secure and cost-efficient alternative to competitors’ cloud-based models. At the same time, deeper integration of Google Gemini technologies into the next-generation Siri is being discussed. Wall Street opinions are divided: Morgan Stanley sees WWDC as a potential catalyst for further valuation upside, while UBS believes that without a truly unexpected breakthrough, the conference is unlikely to become a strong driver for the stock.

Fundamentals remain strong

Despite ongoing discussions around AI, Apple’s core business continues to demonstrate resilience. Strong sales of the latest iPhone generation and continued growth in the services segment are supporting financial performance. The combination of stable cash flow, high-margin services, and a potential AI-driven device upgrade cycle allows Apple to maintain a premium valuation relative to most competitors.

What is currently weighing on AAPL

The main source of pressure on the stock is the risk of a gap between expectations and actual results in AI. Additional risk factors include dependence on the Chinese supply chain, potential trade restrictions and tariff risks, as well as uncertainty around the pace of AI feature rollout. Therefore, the coming weeks could be decisive: a successful demonstration of a new AI strategy may reinforce Apple’s position as a beneficiary of the next technological cycle, while disappointment could trigger a correction after the strong rally of recent months.

Near-term outlook

Overall, the structure of the long-term trend remains intact, but in the short term, the inability of bulls to break resistance could trigger a deeper correction. In the event of a breakdown below the $310 support level, a move toward $305–300 should be expected.

However, each pullback may once again attract buying interest, as previously noted in Apple pulls back after reaching new highs.
