In our earlier coverage of Canada’s 2024 wholesale commodity sales, we noted that total sales edged down 0.3% year over year to $1.4 trillion as weakness in major categories such as vehicles and grains outweighed gains elsewhere. The report also highlighted petroleum products as a key support for the sector, with sales rising to $372.6 billion and their share of total wholesale sales increasing to 26.1%, alongside an overall decline in the cost of goods sold to $1.2 trillion.
