Aerospace expands in Batangas

The Philippines is pushing deeper into advanced export manufacturing as Global Aerospace Technology Philippines, Inc. expands its aerospace production footprint in Batangas. The move adds to the country’s broader effort to build capabilities in higher-value industries while creating room for local jobs, supplier participation, and technology transfer.

Highlights

  • PEZA signed a supplemental agreement with Global Aerospace Technology Philippines, Inc. to expand aerospace parts export manufacturing at First Philippine Industrial Park in Sto. Tomas, Batangas.
  • The Batangas facility will produce components for global clients including Collins Aerospace and Safran Aerospace, supporting technology transfer and strengthening the Philippines' supply chain role.
  • Philippine aerospace exports reached $603.1 million in the first nine months of 2025, with key markets in the U.S., Singapore, France, and China.

Batangas expansion adds export production capacity

As reported by BusinessWorld, citing PEZA, the agency signed a supplemental agreement with Global Aerospace Technology Philippines, Inc. to expand the company’s export manufacturing operation in Batangas. In a statement on Sunday, PEZA said the facility will produce aerospace parts and components for export to the U.S. and UK.

The facility is set to rise within First Philippine Industrial Park in Sto. Tomas, Batangas. Under the agreement, GATPHI will handle the manufacture, fabrication, machining, injection molding, thermo-forming, and assembly of aerospace parts and components for global customers.

The Batangas project follows a registration agreement signed by GATPHI and PEZA earlier this year for the manufacture of unmanned aerial vehicles and aircraft systems at the Cavite Technopark-Special Economic Zone. PEZA Director-General Tereso O. Panga says the latest expansion further positions the Philippines as a global player in advanced manufacturing, particularly in aviation and aerospace.

Push into aerospace supports jobs and supply chain goals

PEZA says the expansion allows GATPHI to support global aerospace companies such as Collins Aerospace and Safran Aerospace while strengthening the Philippines’ role in the international aerospace manufacturing supply chain. The agency adds that the project opens opportunities for technology and knowledge transfer and increases the participation of Philippine suppliers in the global aerospace value chain.

GATPHI President and Managing Director Jason Carl Tyas says the Batangas expansion supports the development of local talent and reinforces the country’s aerospace supply chain. The investment comes as the Philippines seeks to widen its capabilities in advanced, technology-driven export industries such as aerospace.

The Board of Investments estimates Philippine aerospace exports at $603.1 million in the first nine months of 2025. Export markets include the U.S., Singapore, France, and China.

PEZA’s call for industrial parks to upgrade infrastructure highlighted the need for stronger telecommunications, utilities, logistics, and other services to attract high-tech and advanced manufacturing locators. Our earlier coverage noted that closer coordination between private developers and local governments is key to modernizing economic zones and improving their competitiveness. That context helps frame why new PEZA-supported projects—such as export-oriented aerospace production—can scale faster when industrial parks are equipped for technology-driven operations.
