Funnyfuzzy UK shutdown exposes £6.3 million in unexplained transactions
Funnyfuzzy faces financial scandal

A UK online pet supplies retailer has been shut down after investigators found evidence of millions of pounds in customer payments despite the company filing dormant accounts. The action follows the 2024 winding-up of its predecessor and adds to complaints over undelivered goods, delayed refunds and poor customer service.

Highlights

  • Funnyfuzzy Tech UK Co., Ltd shut down following a probe uncovering over £6.3 million in unexplained payments between August 2023 and January 2026, despite submitting dormant accounts.
  • Investigators found Funnyfuzzy did not provide requested records, operated without evidence from its registered UK address, and shifted website business addresses between the UK, U.S., China, and Hong Kong.
  • Multiple consumer complaints about product delivery and service, plus repeated changes in official details, raised regulatory and continuity-of-trading concerns after the company's predecessor was previously shut down in 2024.

Insolvency probe finds payment and disclosure gaps

As reported by GOV.UK, the Insolvency Service says Funnyfuzzy Tech UK Co., Ltd was closed after an investigation found more than £6.3 million in incoming payments between August 2023 and January 2026, even though the company had submitted dormant accounts.

The business traded through the funnyfuzzy.co.uk website, selling pet products to UK residents. Investigators say the company refused to engage on the grounds that it operated outside the UK, but it used a UK contractor to handle customer returns and did not provide records requested during the inquiry.

Officials also found no evidence of the company operating from its registered London address. The website at different times appeared to list business addresses in the UK, the U.S., China and Hong Kong, while the latest version of the site was linked to Hong Kong-registered Funnyfuzzy HK Tech Limited.

Consumer complaints and repeat trading concerns

A number of customers complained to the Insolvency Service, Action Fraud and Trading Standards about Funnyfuzzy's service. The complaints included non-delivery of items, shipping delays, poor product quality, failure to process refunds and weak customer support.

Investigators say repeated changes to the company details shown on the website, including company names and addresses, made it harder for customers to identify which business they were dealing with. The agency says that pattern raised concerns about continuity of trading after enforcement action.

The company's predecessor, Funnyfuzzy UK Co., Ltd, was shut down in 2024 following a separate Insolvency Service investigation. Chief Investigator Mark George says the agency is working with partners to disrupt similar trading models when operators try to continue through a different entity after a previous company has been wound up.

Our earlier report on the UK’s collective proceedings regime noted that courts and regulators are applying tougher scrutiny to mass consumer claims, making large opt-out cases harder to advance. It also highlighted ongoing proposals and debates about expanding consumer class action frameworks while ensuring weak or funder-driven claims are filtered out.
