Leverage Shares to amend options income strategies across listed ETP range
Leverage Shares plc is changing the investment approach for a broad set of its income-focused exchange-traded products, with the amendments taking effect on 2 November 2026. The update expands the use of put and call options, widens strike price ranges and adds major U.S. equity indices as eligible option underlyings for the affected series.
Highlights
- Leverage Shares plc will amend options income strategies across its ETP range, allowing both put and call options and widening strike price ranges for each.
- The issuer is including the Nasdaq 100 Index, S&P 500 Index, and Russell 2000 Index as new option underlyings where not already present in each strategy.
- The changes, applying to IncomeShares ETPs spanning stocks, sectors, and commodities, aim to enhance portfolio flexibility and optimise income while managing risk.
Strategy changes and implementation timeline
As reported by London Stock Exchange, citing London Stock Exchange RNS, Leverage Shares plc has issued a notice to holders of the affected ETP securities setting out modifications to the options-based income strategies used by the relevant series. The issuer says the changes are being made alongside an update to its Base Prospectus currently in progress and will be reflected in the revised document.Under the amendments, each strategy may sell put options and or call options, rather than being limited to put options or call options. The issuer is also widening strike price ranges, with put options moving from ATM to 10% ITM to 20% OTM to 10% ITM, and call options from ATM to 10% OTM to 20% ITM to 10% OTM.
Leverage Shares is also adding the Nasdaq 100 Index, the S&P 500 Index and the Russell 2000 Index as option underlyings for each options-based income strategy, where those indices are not already included. In addition, the notice clarifies that amounts reserved for subsequent interest payment dates may be retained as collateral assets rather than reinvested, including the intrinsic value element of premiums where options are sold in the money.
Portfolio flexibility and product scope
The issuer says the investment strategy amendments are intended to give the portfolio administrator greater flexibility in selecting options, with the aim of optimising income and liquidity while managing risks linked to written options. It also says the clarification on available receipts does not change the portfolio administrator's existing discretion to reserve amounts. The notice applies to a long list of IncomeShares products spanning single-stock, sector, commodity and index exposures. The schedule includes ETPs linked to companies such as Apple, Microsoft, NVIDIA, Tesla, Amazon and Coinbase, as well as products tied to gold, silver, uranium, WTI oil, miners, Treasuries and benchmark equity indices.
The capitalised terms used in the notice follow the meanings set out in the issuer's Base Prospectus approved by the Financial Conduct Authority on 9 June 2026 and by the Central Bank on 11 June 2026. Investors with questions arising from the notice are asked to contact Leverage Shares directly.
