Oil prices could move higher amid U.S.-Iran war, Javier Blas discusses
Oil prices seen rising in U.S.-Iran crisis

Javier Blas appeared on the 'Odd Lots' podcast to discuss developments related to the U.S.-Iran war and its effect on oil prices. He addressed why oil prices are expected to climb much higher in order to curb demand, but also explained that expensive fertilizer does not necessarily mean a food crisis is imminent.

Blas examined how geopolitical tensions are influencing commodity markets and challenged the idea that higher fertilizer prices will lead directly to a food crisis.

Blas previously reported that Iran continued loading oil tankers from Kharg Island and shipping them to sea even as China maintained some oil supplies during wartime. In another article, he noted the current energy shock has had limited impact on U.S. natural gas prices, a factor key for industry and inflation. These developments frame his broader analysis of commodity markets affected by geopolitical events.
