Florida and Texas surpass other states in post-pandemic GDP growth, Joseph Politano notes
Florida, Texas lead U.S. GDP gains

All U.S. states and Washington, D.C. have exceeded their pre-pandemic GDP levels, according to Joseph Politano.

Florida saw the fastest growth at 29 percent above pre-COVID levels, followed by Arizona, Texas, Idaho, and Utah. The slowest increases were in Washington, D.C., Wyoming, Louisiana, Hawaii, and Oklahoma.

Joseph Politano has recently tracked shifts in U.S. labor market dynamics. In February, he reported that hiring dropped to its lowest rate since 2011 as layoffs increased and job openings declined. Earlier, labor market hiring had risen to 3.3% in January while layoffs and quits decreased, according to Politano's previous analysis.
