Alex Bosworth: Standard routing nodes with fees outperform promotional nodes in liquidity
Alex Bosworth, Head of Infrastructure at Lightning Labs, discusses the effectiveness of routing nodes in cryptocurrency networks. In his assessment, many nodes use aliases to advertise support for protocols or free routing, but these claims do not necessarily translate to strong liquidity. He observes that nodes relying on standard configurations with applied fees tend to be more effective for routing purposes compared to those promoting extra features.
Bosworth has previously said that BTC could allow trade to bypass global fiat tolls, positioning it as a potential alternative if fiat transaction costs increase, according to an earlier report. He has also discussed challenges related to integrating point-of-sale systems with the Lightning Network, suggesting new methods to improve user access in a separate analysis.
