Chainlink CCIP sees $5 billion in flows

ChainlinkGod, industry influencer, reports that Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) has facilitated significant token transfers in the past 90 days. Top tokens transferred over CCIP include syrupUSDT at $2.2 billion and syrupUSDC at $1.9 billion, both associated with Maple Finance. Other notable transfers cited are $498 million in GHO by Aave, $365 million in USDC by Circle, $240 million in wstETH by Lido Finance, and $159 million in USD1 by World Liberty Finance.

Questions about security in cross-chain protocols have surfaced in recent months. Zach Rynes previously examined how North Korea accessed core node and RPC servers in a LayerZero exploit totaling $290 million. In a separate report, Rynes argued that LayerZero was shifting responsibility onto KelpDAO for trusting its DVN node after the $290 million bridge incident. These incidents highlight ongoing scrutiny of interoperability solutions.
