Hunter Horsley: Bitwise 10 Crypto Index ETF not registered under Investment Company Act
Bitwise 10 ETF lacks key protections

Hunter Horsley, industry influencer, highlights that the Bitwise 10 Crypto Index ETF (BITW) is not registered as an investment company under the Investment Company Act of 1940.

As a result, BITW is not subject to the same regulatory protections as mutual funds or ETFs registered under this act and is considered unsuitable for all investors.

Andrew Jiang recently highlighted that the Bitwise team manages custom derivatives portfolios to generate yield for large crypto asset holders. In a separate development, Tuur Demeester has observed more Bitcoin investors borrowing against their holdings instead of selling when they need cash. Both trends show continued experimentation among crypto market participants.
