Lisa Abramowicz, journalist and co-host on Bloomberg TV/Radio, reports that just five companies—Alphabet, Nvidia, Amazon, Broadcom and Apple—have contributed to half of the S&P 500's growth since April.
This concentration highlights the significant influence a handful of technology and semiconductor companies have had on the broader U.S. stock market in recent months.
Abramowicz has recently highlighted other notable shifts in global markets. She reported that inflation expectations over the next decade have climbed to 2.5 percent, the highest since 2023. In a separate update, she noted that the Japanese 10-year government bond yield rose to a post-1997 high of 2.52 percent. These developments come as longer-term rates and spending continue to rise.
