Willem Middelkoop: U.S. consumer sentiment drops to record low
U.S. consumer sentiment falls to new low

Willem Middelkoop, founder, investor, commodity fund manager at Commodity Discovery Fund, highlights a significant decline in U.S. consumer sentiment to its lowest level on record.

The observation comes as Middelkoop refers to this downturn as part of a so-called 'Golden Age' under U.S. President Donald Trump.

Middelkoop has previously highlighted other key market milestones. He noted that the last 30-year U.S. Treasury with a 5 percent rate was sold in 2007, ahead of the global financial crisis. Middelkoop also referenced the acquisition of Filo Mining by BHP and Lundin Mining for over $4 billion in 2024 after major discoveries.
