Larry Tabb highlights that the upcoming market session extension for options will initially feature only 20 names. The morning session is set to run from 7:30 a.m. to 9:25 a.m., with trading continuing for 15 minutes after the close, up to 4:15 p.m.
Tabb adds that, while more securities will be added over time, expanding trading past 4:15 p.m. is expected to be challenging.
Tabb has previously focused on infrastructure changes in trading. In a recent article, he explained how speedier settlement and automation are fueling tokenization. He noted that these advancements have the potential to unlock significant market value.
