Cipher weighs on-site power for AI needs

Shay Boloor reports that Cipher CEO Tyler Page is considering generating power on-site to accelerate the company's response to growing artificial intelligence data center demand.

According to the statement, hyperscale data center operators are increasingly seeking quicker access to power. Cipher may be able to leverage internal resources and “tap the pipeline” directly instead of waiting extended periods for traditional grid access.

Earlier this month, Shay Boloor reported that NBIS plans to invest over $9 billion in a 240MW AI cloud project in France, making it one of Europe's largest deployments. He also highlighted IREN's share price move above $65 after boosted ARR guidance and a $1.6 billion DELL deal for AI systems in Texas data centers. Both deals reflect continued large-scale investment in infrastructure supporting artificial intelligence.
