Nicole DeTommaso observes that the venture capital interview process has changed more in the last 2 years than in the previous decade.
According to DeTommaso, while the interview steps themselves have remained consistent, expectations at each stage are now different. She highlights that aspiring VCs often miss out on offers not due to a lack of preparation, but because of evolving criteria at various phases of the process.
DeTommaso has previously outlined routes to starting a VC fund, focusing on interim investment vehicles in her newsletter coverage. In another report, she noted that 60 percent of Corgi’s earliest hires got company tattoos after $374 million was raised in under two years by the firm. Both examples highlight topics she has tracked among startups and investors in recent years.
