Martin Lewis, founder and finance commentator at MoneySavingExpert, highlights that British Gas is offering its cheapest fixed tariff since the start of the recent Middle East conflict.
He notes this deal is currently 15 percent less expensive than the incoming 1 July price cap rates, and is available to existing British Gas customers, including those on fixed tariffs.
Lewis recently flagged the drop in crude oil prices to $73, cautioning about potential price gouging compared to pre-war benchmarks. In a separate update, he urged individuals born between September 2002 and January 2011 to check for unclaimed funds. Both reminders come as consumer costs remain in focus.
