Pushpendra Singh: USDT premium surges to 9 percent over official USD to INR rate
USDT in India trades at premium

Pushpendra Singh, crypto educator and blockchain enthusiast, highlights that USDT is now trading at ₹105 while the official USD to INR rate remains around ₹94, resulting in a 9 percent premium.

He attributes this jump to an Enforcement Directorate crackdown that has disrupted USDT remittance channels, leading to a significant supply shortage even as demand continues to rise. Singh suggests uncertainty around crypto regulations is also a factor.

Singh has previously covered major events shaping India’s currency and crypto markets. In May 2026, he reported that the RBI sold $12 billion of gold to support foreign exchange reserves, the first sale of its kind since 1991 (full story). Earlier this year, Singh noted Bitcoin dropped below $60,000 for the first time since October 2024 (details).
