ACA premium increases primarily shift costs to taxpayers, Brian Blase notes
Taxpayers bear bulk of ACA increases

Brian Blase highlights that mainstream media coverage often omits key information about Affordable Care Act premium increases.

He explains that nearly 90% of enrollees receive subsidies and do not pay the premium hikes directly, resulting in taxpayers shouldering almost all the increases over time.

Blase has previously estimated annual rural hospital losses at $3.2 billion and noted that Medicaid improper payments total $152 billion each year. He has also highlighted a $600 billion reduction in corporate welfare and slower federal spending growth. The recent commentary follows his ongoing analysis of federal healthcare spending.
