ETF filings target actively managed event contract portfolios, James Seyffart notes
ETF filings for event contract portfolios

James Seyffart highlights the arrival of ETF filings designed for portfolios that function like actively managed event contracts, commonly known as prediction markets.

He adds that some of these offerings would allow betting on sports events. Seyffart states that while approval is unlikely in the near term, these products will remain pending in anticipation of potential regulatory changes by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Seyffart has previously tracked ETF activity in different segments of the market. He noted that holders of the Ethereum ETF have seen losses, with the average cost basis near $3,400 while the token trades at $1,700, according to his earlier analysis. Seyffart also pointed out the launch of SPCL, a 2X leveraged ETF tied to SpaceX, now trading on U.S. markets, in a separate report.
