Jon Erlichman, anchor and financial journalist at Bloomberg TV, recalls that in 2018, Elon Musk considered taking Tesla private at a valuation of $71 billion.

He adds that today, Tesla is valued at $1 trillion.

Erlichman has previously reviewed major growth stories in the tech sector. He reported that Shopify’s quarterly revenue rose from $87 million in 2016 to $3.6 billion in 2026. In an earlier analysis, he examined the 15,000 percent revenue growth at Intel since its founding in 1968.
