Tone Vays: Ocean Mining hash rates dropped significantly after pool split
Ocean Mining hash rate fell sharply

Tone Vays, bitcoin analyst, derivatives trader and event producer, shared new statistics on Ocean Mining hash rates before, during, and after a pool split.

The data shows that pre-split hash rate peaked at 38 Eh/s, dropping to 15.5 Eh/s for Bitcoin and 14.5 Eh/s for #Bip110 during the split. Post-split, Bitcoin stabilized at 16 Eh/s while the 'dead endpoint' fell to 1.2 Eh/s. Vays concluded that about 6–8 Eh/s switched away from the pool, with more than 13 Eh/s accounted for by rented hashpower.

Vays has previously highlighted industry debates over protocol upgrades, including criticism of efforts to replace the Bip110 group. He has also emphasized hardware wallet features, pointing out that Trezor should add Bip39 support to enable easier custom seed creation. Both issues have attracted attention from technical users and industry observers.
